Syllabus Syllabus

There is no right or wrong way to start your course work, though you should always print the syllabus when entering a course for the first time. Most courses will include a course calendar that details in one convenient table all course assignments and activities, organized by module.

Modules represent a particular set of objectives emphasizing specific skills, content (knowledge) or dispositions of the course. For most courses a module lasts for one to two weeks. Most SL&IT courses will include in the syllabus a course calendar, as in the example below.

Announcements Announcements

At the top of every course home page is the button to view announcements. Your instructor may add these at any time. As a general rule, each time you login to class you should check for announcements. These might contain important changes to assignments, corrections, additions to course content, or late-breaking news.

Once at the Announcements page you will view the most recent seven days of announcements (see Figure 5). You may also use the tabs on the top of the page to show all announcements; just the current day's; or those posted in the last 30 days.
