Blackboard allows you to view your course progress by reviewing grades. The tool used in Blackboard is called My Grades, and it provides a spreadsheet view of each assignment, or activity, and your grade for it. To view the grade book select My Grades from the Course Tools menu (see image below).

Once in the grade book, you will see a spreadsheet listing of all course assignments, whether you completed them or not (see Figure 25 below). The display includes the dates that you submitted the assignment, the numeric grade recorded by the instructor, the possible point value, and the average score for the class as a whole.

To review any completed assignment you can click the grade corresponding to a particular assignment. This will open the work that you submitted with the new addition of any comments or attachments returned by your instructor. In many cases faculty will return your original work with marked up comments or corrections. See Figure 26 for an example of comments with an attachment.

Anything Else?
This completes your introduction to Blackboard. Admittedly, it was a very basic overview of a sophisticated web application. Hopefully you learned enough to jump into the swift waters of your online courses.
If you need additional help, Blackboard does have an online Manual, accessed from the Course Tools menu, as well as Help pages accessed from the Help icon at the top of every course page. And of course, practice makes perfect!
Congratulations, you're ready to start classes!
