Welcome
LSC 6600, Leveraging School Libraries to Improve Student Learning, is a short, one-credit graduate course available online from Mansfield University's School Library & Information Technologies Program. Developed with federal grant money for school principals and other administrators, it is designed to build leadership and advocacy skills in how to maximize a school library program to increase student achievement.
Participants will learn the research, standards, and guidelines about creating quality school library programs that improve the academic achievement of students. Assignments are practical and authentic with online discussions that allow administrators to share ideas across the nation with other colleagues. After using a national assessment rubric to evaluate their school library program, participants will develop a practical action to revitalize and maximize an existing asset, the school library.
